Spartans Looking Forward To Playoffs

The "dog days" are finally in the rear view mirror. Now, the Spartans say, it's time to get seriously primed for the big drive to the finish line.

With the beginning of March underway, the stretch run to the playoffs is almost done - for the Spartans and for every other team aiming to be there when the puck drops on the battle for hockey's biggest prize in a little more than two weeks.

Perhaps more significantly, the Spartans own a big point edge over the 5th place Flying Elbows, and both have the same amount of games remaining in the season. That's a rather solid cushion heading into the stretch drive, but Beaudin said his team won't take anything for granted until the job is finally done.

The Flying Elbows play the Spartans at Ray Friel Arena on Monday night (11 p.m.)
